I should be fully settled by the middle of March. In the meantime, I have been following the leadership battle between Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard and this past life story may give some insights into their relationship.

Kevin and Julia were born brother and sister to a farming family in the Scottish highlands in the late 1700s

Even as children they were always at loggerheads and trying to outdo each other.

One day, Julia overheard her father telling Kevin that eventually the farm would be his because he was the only son and also the eldest.

After church one Sunday, Julia challenged Kevin to a foot race to their home which was about a mile away.

Julia was very quick on her feet and able to jump over rocks and any other obstacles that got in her way. Kevin was slow and clumsy but still felt sure he could win.

In the end, Julia turned up dirty and exhausted while Kevin came a very poor second.

But Kevin could accept any challenges from Julia because he would inherit everything and, when that day came, he would throw Julia out.

In this life we must wait and see if Kevin can do it again — but I doubt it.

Ikey Solomon was one of Tasmania’s most famous convicts. He allegedly inspired Fagin in Dickens’ Oliver Twist and also featured in The Potato Factory by Bryce Courtenay. Ikey frequented the Hope and Anchor hotel in Macquarie Street, Hobart, and had a tobacco shop on the corner of Elizabeth and Collins Streets.

Now a historical television documentary re-enacting the key events of Ikey’s turbulent life is being made in Hobart. Here’s what my spirit guide Gowa told me about him, as I have related in my book Spirits of Tasmania.

He is a cranky old bastard and a more disgruntled spirit I have yet to meet. Ikey is aware of Charles Dickens basing the story on him but is put out as he thinks he was not as bad as Fagin in the story. He also remembers the smell of tobacco, but can’t tie it in with any earthly experience.

Even now, he has not learnt the lesson of tolerance or how to curb his temper.

He has become very down on everyone but hopefully, as he travels to and fro, he will gain a better understanding of himself and then his true enlightenment will start. At the moment, the world is better off without him.

P.S. I’m still hoping to return to Tasmania when family commitments allow.

They’re back in the news with a rumoured breakup on the way.

Past Lives: Demi and Ashton were mother and son in America during the Salem witch-hunts. Ashton pleaded with his mother to give up her witchcraft, but Demi ignored him because she could cure many ailments and remove hexes placed by black witches.

As he grew older, he hated the stigma of being born to a witch and sometimes openly cursed his mother.

Finally, he made false allegations before a judge and, because of such damning evidence from her own son, Demi was hanged in the town square.

Ashton now protects her as her husband, with a snow owl spirit to prevent any more deceit.

As I revealed recently, many members of the Royal Family had past lives in the reign of Henry VIII. In particular, Prince William is the reincarnation of Henry’s illegitimate son, Henry Fitzroy, and Kate is the reincarnation of Fitzroy’s wife, Mary Howard.

I can now reveal that the late Princess Diana was the reincarnation of Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne Boleyn. As well as being Fitzroy’s stepmother, Anne was Mary Howard’s first cousin.

Unfortunately, Anne was beheaded after failing to produce a male heir, Fitzroy died aged just 17, and Mary Howard never remarried.

In this life, of course, Diana also died young but I predict that William and Kate will have a long and happy life together with at least two children.

In one of his past lives, Barack Obama was born into a very wealthy white family in America’s South in the early 1820s. His parents owned many farms and had once been slave owners.

He never worked a day in his life despite being given the best education. He was highly intelligent but the only motivation he had was to gamble.

When he was 25, his father gave him a large sum of money and sent him away, telling him not to return until he had doubled the money.

He sank most of it into real estate but kept some for gambling and partying.

His idea was to wait until the value of the properties had doubled, collect his money and march triumphantly home. He likened it to an African tribal ritual where the young man would hunt and kill a lion to prove himself.

Unfortunately Barack bought most of his land sight unseen and left all the dealing to his land agent.

Two years went by and Barack was almost broke, having lost heavily at poker. He decided it was time to collect his money and return home. Barack instructed his agent to sell all the properties and to send him the titles to sign.

By now the agent had disappeared and so had the original investment. Barack soon discovered he was the proud owner of nothing but mosquito-infested swampland.

His laziness and lack of motivation had brought him undone. He never returned home, too ashamed to face his father.

In this life, Barack has the lion spirit with him.

I am often asked about the past lives of our political leaders. Julia Gillard, Australia’s first female Prime Minister, is under constant attack from Tony Abbott, the Leader of the Opposition.

It’s a very spiteful battle, so it’s not surprising that they shared a past life.

Tony and Julia were brother and sister, born into a wealthy family in England in the early 1800s. They were the only children and were both spoilt and doted on by their parents.

There was a great rivalry between them as they fought for their father’s favour.

He was a lawyer and, to please him, both Tony and Julia wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps.

They were very bright students but their bickering and arguing was endless as they both tried to get the highest marks in their law exams.

Their parents would take Tony and Julia to Scotland and Wales to further their education and the arguments would be very heated during these long journeys.

On one such occasion, Tony yelled he would run away and join the church. That would shut up his sister, as no one was allowed to argue with a minister of the church.

His father reminded Tony, however, that if he were to do such a thing then Julia would inherit everything.

Tony never did join the ministry and the jealousy and rivalry continued for the rest of their lives.

There was a love-hate relationship between them in those days. In this life nothing seems to have changed, except they are no longer related to each other — and that is just as well.

There has been a great deal of interest in the past lives of William and Kate, now known officially as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. As I revealed in 2006 in my book Celebrity Past Lives, William is the reincarnation of Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate son of Henry VIII and his teenage mistress Bessie Blount.

I can now reveal that Kate is the reincarnation of Fitzroy’s young wife, Mary Howard, and that Prince Harry is the reincarnation of Mary Howard’s brother, Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey. As you’ll see below, there are striking resemblances between the current royals and their previous incarnations.
